Parents and Grandparents visit!!

G’day all! I cant believe how quickly my time is flying by here…less than 2 months and ill be back in the states!! My parents and grandparents took the long flight out here to visit me! I knew i was the favorite!! ha. They have been here for a few weeks now but are leaving in a few days. We have been having a great time! They traveled to sydney and to cairns without me..but i think they really enjoyed the trips. I have been having so much fun with them here! I even got them all to feed kangroos and they are slowly adjusting to the bad aussie food. (my dad can now order a coffee and know what he is getting) i think my dad will even continue using some of the aussie slang once he gets home. He is really keen on the ‘no worries’ phrase! - no worries, cheers, reckon, keen, mate, how you going, sweet as, arvo = afternoon, brekky = breakfast, bogan = white trash, heaps, taking the piss, sheila = girl, have a go, tradie = construction worker, dodgy
i also think i understand the accent now…if a word ends in an ‘r’ pronounce an ‘a’ if a word ends in ‘a’ pronounce an ‘r’ so basically they are just crazy!!

spring break!

I am heading to Cairns for spring break. I am going with 5 friends. we are heading to a bunch of places along the way! im sure i will have tons of stories and pictures when i return. ill be back october 4th!! cheers!

Brian’s visit

I have been so busy lately but I am going to upload tons of pictures! Brian came to visit and we had such a great time!! Surfers Paradise, a beach on the Gold Coast (about 2 hours south of me), was just amazing. The beach was crowded and huge. There were tons of shops and restaurants. it reminded me a lot of a flordia beach. very busy area. it was one of my favorite beaches because it was soo big!
we also took a weekend trip with my friends to bribie island. it was a really small island. we could walk across the width of it in about an hour. we pretty much just hung on the beach there too. it was a very relaxing weekend though, which was nice!
